Picking up litter is a fun, simple, free activity that can have instant results for our community.
2. Assign gloves and a trash bag to each family member.
3. Clear out litter from a section of park or green space, school grounds, walking trail, your back alley or 50th street & 66 street south of 23rd avenue. You can pick your favourite walk and do a one-time sweep, or make clean-up a regular family event.

You could WIN a $25 Sobeys gift card!! All you need to do is get outside and pick up litter in the Millhurst Community and post a picture to the Meyokumin & Sakaw Facebook Page #millhurstcleanup, indicating your cleaned location. Pictures could be of you or your family picking up litter, before or after pictures of an area or the bag of garbage you collected. Please also tell us where you collected so others know what areas to head out to! Every day you pick garbage and post is one entry. Draw to take place Monday May 3rd, 2021.
The spring community clean up event is officially over and we thank all of those that went out and made a difference in the Millhurst community. 18 kits were delivered and we awarded 2 $25.00 gift certificates donated by Mill Woods Sobeys for sharing a picture #millhurstcleanup.
Clean up in the Millhurst community can be ongoing throughout the year and you can report your litter pick up to Capital City Clean Up for an opportunity to recognize your contributions and win monthly prizes. Reporting will allow you to track your progress throughout the year.
