PHASE 2 & 3
Our vision for Sakaw Gardens is a simple one: where people of all ages and backgrounds come together in the experience of growing food.
Sakaw Gardens is about growing more than food. It's about growing people, growing families and growing a community. We will provide education for a healthy lifestyle using gardening as a central theme.
Phase 1 is complete with 35 rentable private garden plots, food bank plot, school plot, 2 private plots, 4 compost bins, 2 water totes and the orchard.
Plans for phase 2 of Sakaw Gardens are underway and include the following:
Pat's Path for wheelchairs to access the orchard and garden in memory of long time community volunteer Pat Whaley.
Wheelchair Raised Garden Beds
Chain Linked Fence
Picnic Tables & Benches
Additional Native Plants (along path & in the dry bed)
Phase 3 will be the addition of a covered shelter with picnic tables to be installed October 2022 located between Sakaw Park & the Garden surrounded by the shade trees.
